NIRVANA SAUVIGNON BLANC 2007
On the palate the wine is harmonious with excellent integration between the fruit and acidity.  Its restrained power combined with elegance and a wonderful minerality are the hallmarks of any great Sauvignon Blanc.
Origin
The Nirvana Collection is a unique range of wines crafted by Vergelegen winemaker André van Rensburg.  The collection will vary from year to year as André explores the synergies within small and unique vineyard parcels and traditional winemaking practices.  Each bottling will reflect an exceptional balance between man and nature, striving to unveil the very essence of Vergelegen.
Vinification
The 2007 vintage promised and delivered Vergelegen's best Sauvignon Blanc.  André saw the opportunity to use the oldest virus-free vineyard, sited on what studies have revealed to be one of the best sites for Sauvignon Blanc, to create this single vintage wine.  These 20-year-old vines planted on the south-facing slopes shows intense aromas of green pepper, gooseberry and fig. Total production 2000 bottles.
