*** SOLD OUT *** Join us for an evening under the stars in the company of international singing sensation, Katherine Jenkins, and South Africa’s first lady of song, Sibongile Khumalo On 4 and 5 March 2011, the Great Lawn at Vergelegen Estate will once again be the host venue for RMB Starlight Classics, the Afro-symphonic concert held annually under the stars. Conductor Richard Cock, whose inspired presentation has made classical music accessible to a larger audience, will lead the Cape Town Festival Orchestra while the versatile Ian von Memerty, will direct the show. The Starlight ‘talent celebration’ includes special guest star, mezzo-soprano and international singing sensation, Katherine Jenkins, and South Africa’s first lady of song, Sibongile Khumalo. Jonathon Roxmouth and Roelof Colyn will perform A Handful of Keys, which has enjoyed 1000+ full house shows. Tenor James Bemgee, who won over the judges in SA’s Got Talent, will share his unique story and the Manenberg-based drumming group Limited Addition Drum Corps will enthral audiences with their exceptional and youthful skill. John Beveridge combines his gymnastic and tumbling background in a showstopping Precision Strength Adagio Act with partners Barbra Costas and Cristian Brezeanu. The audience is invited to bring their own picnics, blankets and low fold-up chairs. Cheese, wine and coffee will be available to purchase on the night. Since its inception in 1998, over 150 000 people have enjoyed RMB Starlight Classics, which is also held annually at Country Club Johannesburg to cater for the Gauteng audience.
